Sonoma Trail Marathon

Nestled in the hills above Kenwood, Hood Mountain Regional Park and Sugarloaf Ridge State Park feature amazing scenery and an extensive network of trails to explore. Both the full and half marathons can arguably enter the category of “toughest trail marathon” in their respective distances, while offering a huge variety of terrain and landscapes. These courses are not made for achieving personal best times, but what they lack in speed they more than make up for in stunning vistas, rugged ground, and elevation gains to assure runners the satisfaction that comes from completing a strenuous day on the trails.

The event will be staged out of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park’s expansive campground, where all participants will be treated to coffee and bagels in the morning, a farm-to-table post-run BBQ and beer bash, and live music in the amphitheater. Be sure to bring a towel and change of clothes if you would like to take advantage of the coin-operated showers located near the finish, or to soak your legs and rinse off in the creek after the race. On your way home, don’t forget to visit one of the many local wineries that line the roads to the park entrance.
